Looking to welcome a self-directed person with a passion for creating bakery items, especially with fruit, that has the drive and vision to take our bakery to the next level. Top candidates will have a bakery background with extensive food safety and quality standards experience. The ability to lead and manage a team of less experienced members would be a bonus. Exceptional candidates will also have inventory purchasing/control, pricing/margins and vendor relations experience.
The Bakery Manager’s primary role is to create and deliver a nostalgic and delicious added value experience to our guests while creating a profitable monetary addition to the Tougas business. The Bakery Manager is focused on baking our core items to the highest standards and also creates new, exciting and profitable ways to bake and serve our fruit. With a passion for our fruit, baking, safety and cleanliness, the Bakery Manager leads a team of like-minded bakers who together strive to provide a delicious and memorable farm experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and deliver a nostalgic and delicious added value experience to our guests while creating a profitable monetary addition to the Tougas business.
- Holds Bakery Team accountable for product quality
- Builds a positive work environment
- Makes hiring and separation decisions.
- Accountable for achieving sales, purchasing, and labor targets
- Maintains proper product assortment, merchandising, and inventory control.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative and productive working relationships with farm managers and with vendors.
- Sustains knowledge of relevant competitors and industry trends
- Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Bakery Team in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
- Conducts performance evaluations.
Job Skills
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant competitors and industry trends.
- Knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management.
- Food safety certification. If not currently certified, will commit to completing certification within 1 month.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building skills.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient mathematical skills.
- Decision-making ability, leadership skills, ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters etc.
- May require use of ladders.

Pay: $15.00 - $24.00 per hour
