Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and optimizing enterprise-level IT infrastructure, with a focus on virtualization, backup solutions, network security, and systems administration. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise and the ability to manage complex systems efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and manage virtual server migrations from VMware to Hyper-V, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Administer and maintain Veeam Backup and Replication for robust data backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls, with a preference for SonicWall solutions, to ensure network security.
  • Manage UniFi access points and UniFi management software for seamless wireless network performance.
  • Implement and oversee two-factor authentication systems with Silverfort.
  • Utilize Microsoft Development Tool Kit (MDT) and PXE booting for efficient system deployments and configurations.
  • Manage software deployment and patching using tools like PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Lead Exchange to Gmail migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to email services.
  • Oversee Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades across the organization, ensuring compatibility and user readiness.
  • Administer and maintain Debian-based systems for specific applications and services.
  • Manage Active Directory, including creating and enforcing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and policies to maintain secure and organized user environments.
  • Implement and manage password management systems with Passbolt to ensure secure credential storage and access.
  • Deploy and monitor Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, such as CrowdStrike and SentinelOne, to protect against advanced threats.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability of IT services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Document processes, configurations, and procedures to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Administer and maintain MDM solutions like SOTI MobiControl for laptops, iPads, and scan guns.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of experience in network and systems engineering or a similar role.
  • Proven expertise in virtual server infrastructure with VMware and/or Hyper-V.
  • Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup and Replication for backup and recovery.
  • Strong knowledge of firewall configuration and management, with SonicWall experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with administering two-factor authentication systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Development Tool Kit and PXE booting for system deployments.
  • Experience with software deployment and patching tools
  • Experience with Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade processes.
  • Experience administering Debian-based systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory management, including GPO creation and policy enforcement.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as SonicWall Network Security Administrator, or CompTIA Network .
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation of administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework for IT service management.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like SolarWinds Orion for network and system performance.
