SUMMARY

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely completion of cycle counts, ensuring inventory accuracy, and managing the overall inventory control process within the warehouse. This role involves coordinating daily cycle count activities, analyzing inventory discrepancies, and working closely with other departments to improve inventory accuracy. The Inventory Manager ensures that all inventory-related processes adhere to company policies and standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Develops and implements a structured cycle count schedule to ensure all products are regularly counted.
  • Monitors and oversees the execution of daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Identifies and prioritizes areas for cycle counting based on value, volume, or historical accuracy issues.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensures all adjustments are properly documented, reported, and reflected in inventory records.
  • Works with the warehouse team to identify and correct systematic issues causing inventory inaccuracies.
  • Generates and reviews cycle count reports, highlighting key inventory metrics such as accuracy rates, discrepancies, and trends.
  • Analyzes cycle count results and provides recommendations for process improvements.
  • Provides regular reports to senior management regarding inventory accuracy, count status, and ongoing issues.
  • Collaborates with other departments (e.g., procurement, shipping, and receiving) to improve inventory control processes.
  • Implements continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors and enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Trains and develops warehouse staff on best practices related to cycle counting and inventory control.
  • Ensures all cycle count and inventory management activities comply with internal audit requirements and external regulations.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all cycle counts and inventory adjustments.
  • Assists in preparing for and supporting annual physical inventory audits.
  • Leads and supervises a team of cycle count clerks or inventory control staff.
  • Provides staff coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and efficiency.
  • Sets performance goals for the cycle count team and monitors progress.
  • Works closely with warehouse supervisors to minimize disruptions to daily operations during cycle counts.
  • Coordinates with receiving and shipping teams to ensure real-time updates on inventory changes.
  • Ensures warehouse layouts and product storage practices support accurate cycle counting.

Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse inventory management or cycle counting, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and receiving processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Excel – Intermediate/Advanced
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft SharePoint

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • This position typically works in a warehouse environment, exposed to varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • This position may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Work is typically performed in a warehouse or stockroom environment.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving items as required.
  • Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to operate forklift equipment.
