What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst position at Town of Andover?
This position if for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will operate as part of the district’s behavioral support team. Within each schoolhouse, BCBAs are partnered with a multidisciplinary team of mental and behavioral health staff (i.e. psychologists, social workers, RBTs) to provide wraparound support for inclusion-setting higher needs students.

- Assessment:
- Competency to complete FAs and FBAs, behavioral observations, creation of organized data collection systems.
- Planning:
- Creation of Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs), systems of individual and group reinforcement, design of structured postvention for behavioral incidents
- Oversight of care for specifically identified students:
- Organize and maintain student information associated with each student, including student needs tracking forms, data collection results, and collateral information.
- Consultation:
- Provide teacher and staff consultation to promote inclusion of students in the general education setting.
- Provide in-class support for students.
- Design classroom-based interventions, and training for general staff, to promote in-class functioning and access to academic instruction.
- Participation on MTSS teams to identify students who are at risk of educational challenges.
- Help design tiered interventions to support students in the classroom.
- Supervision of Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs)
- Member of assigned buildings’ SafetyCare response team.
- Understanding of Special Education:
- Provision of Grid A consultation to identified building staff
- Consultation to Sp.Ed. teams regarding the design of IEP goals.
- Credentialing through the BACB
- Appropriate credentialing by MA DESE
