Brewster is seeking applications for the position of Laborer for the Department of Public Works. This position performs semi-skilled manual work supporting construction, general operation and maintenance, and repair projects undertaken by the DPW.
Duties include but are not limited to; performs landscaping duties, including mowing, weed whacking, and tree trimming for Town properties; catch basin cleaning, asphalt repairs including cold patching, and general maintenance of roadways; participates in snow & ice operations. Operates a variety of equipment, hand tools and machinery.
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year experience in grounds or roadway maintenance preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position covered under the SEIU Union agreement with a pay range of $24.92 - $30.65 per hour, starting pay depending on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package includes paid time off, health insurance, retirement benefits. Position is subject to occasional mandatory overtime.
