What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner position at TOWN OF FLORENCE?
It is an exciting time in the Town of Florence. We are looking forward to the next twenty years of development, while we work to preserve our rich past. Our community is excited to see new and upcoming projects that will entice economic growth and prosperity. We are poised to attract small and large businesses to our town and the Planner will assist the Senior Planner and the Community Development Director in making sure we grow responsibly to ensure sustainability. The Town Council recently adopted the North End Vision Plan for Territorial Square, a mixed-use plan to grow our historical downtown and riverfront into a beautiful corridor for new and existing residents to enjoy.
The Planner performs professional and technical work involving advanced research and analysis. May assist in giving presentations and may provide recommendations regarding current and long-range land use planning, neighborhood planning, transportation planning, urban design and economic development issues. The employee in this position may act as a project leader on complex planning projects. Project management experience is preferred in this role.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a planning related field plus one (1) year experience working in a municipal planning department or in a similar capacity; Master's Degree in a planning related field; or a combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Must have and maintain a valid Arizona's driver's license.
Preferred: American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification.

Pay: $57,104.32 - $85,656.48 per year
