What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker position at Town of Groton?
The Food Service Worker will primarily prepare cold foods and serve an assortment of items that are necessary for the daily operation of the Thrive 55 kitchen. The skills and knowledge would generally be acquired with a high school education and two years satisfactory work experience in a food service facility. Must be Serve Safe certified, have the ability to read and follow directions, work independently, as well as part of a team, and demonstrate positive customer service skills. The physical demands of the position require the ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Preferred qualifications include experience in commercial food service and familiarity with health codes. This is a temporary position, up to 20 hours/week, with a starting rate of $13.00/hour.
