What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Instructor - Karate position at Town of Leesburg?
We are looking for an instructor with knowledge, skills, and experience leading karate classes/programming for children and adults. Candidates must display patience and positivity with prospective students of all levels. Candidates must be at least 18 years, high school graduate with knowledge and skills related to specific instruction in karate. Hourly rate varies based on experience and skill knowledge. Classes are mainly to be taught on weekends in the afternoon but schedule can be flexible.

- Ensure safety of all participants
- Class and program preparation
- Promoting discipline and respect within each class and program
- Ensure proper use of techniques by all students
- Monitoring and notifying of student progress, providing feedback for an individual or group
- Leading monthly workshops
- Keep up to date certifications and trainings
- Knowledge and skills related to the specific instruction area.
- Ability to obtain CPR and first aid certification within 3 months of employment.
- Black belt in karate
- Prior experience creating, designing, planning, and instructing classes in karate
- Certifications are preferred
