The Town of Pagosa Springs is seeking energetic, fun, responsible team players to serve as Counselors, Assistant Leads, and Leads for the K.I.D.S. Day Camp. Staff works collaboratively to implement the program and create a positive learning, exploring, and growing experience for attendees. The K.I.D.S Day Camp program runs from June 3rd through August 2nd, Monday through Friday. Training for staff begins in Mid May.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Function as part of the K.I.D.S. Day Camp Team to implement all K.I.D.S. Day Camp operationsDaily check-in count and/or check-out countHelp prep and/or maintain morning and/or afternoon snacksProvides feedback to appropriate partiesParticipates in daily activities with hours ranging from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.Ensures the health, safety and well-being of all staff and youth day campersCreate a fun and exciting experience for all involved in K.I.D.S. Day CampBe a role model for youth day campersHelps promote an atmosphere for good morale and well-being among the staff and youth day campersSupervise risk and safety for all involved in K.I.D.S. Day CampAct in a leadership role during an emergency situationRecognize and respond to opportunities for discussion of individual or group problems or concerns.These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Ability to communicate and work with staff and campers to provide necessary instructions.Ability to observe staff behavior, assess appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior techniques.Physical strength required to lift is 50 lbs. and respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
