The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Swim Instructor to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team!
This is an in-person part-time position, offering part-time benefits
Hourly range per session: $33 - $42.90
Hiring range: $33 - $37.95
$250 sign-on bonus available!
We are looking for a swim instructor that will plan, organize, and provide quality swimming and water safety instruction. Will also monitor water activities to assure safety and prevent accidents or injury to patrons.
Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below:
- Plan and organize personal class teaching outlines, methods and goals that support the general teaching outlines provided by the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator and the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.
- Take attendance and is on a first-name personalized basis with class participants.
- Establish positive public relations with parents/guardians of class participants.
- Educates participants/parents to recognize and understand swimming developments and achievements.
- Enforce pool and recreation center rules and regulations.
- Help organize and assist in the development of special programs, activities or instruction completes.
- Work with the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator on an on-going basis to improve and refine individual teaching skills related to teaching effective swimming lessons to various age groups and various skill levels.
- Perform first aid as needed to assist individuals suffering from injuries; perform water rescues as needed to prevent mishaps and drowning.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- At least 16 years of age.
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations of aquatics facilities.
- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification/Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED – the Recreation Center can assist with in-house certifications!
- Swimming instruction techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
