DUTIES:
The Town of Wrightsville Beach is currently accepting applications for Police Officer I, Police Officer II, and Master Police Officer positions. The police department provides full police services to the community, including community policing, traffic and criminal law enforcement, emergency response, investigations and special events. The department serves a public of approximately 2,500 permanent residents and a summer population that swells to over 25,000 residents, visitors and summer guests.
The Town offers pay incentives for LEO intermediate and advanced certificates along with a full benefits package. The benefits package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, Short and Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Plan, Local Government Retirement System, 401K and Supplemental Benefits.
Requirements
Selected candidates will have to successfully complete the state mandated background and pre-hire process, along with other evaluation processes required by the police department.
All applicants must be eligible for immediate certification with N.C. Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission or eligible for lateral transfer if applying from another agency in North Carolina or out of state transfer. All applicants must also possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license at the time of appointment. Applicants with 3 years of law enforcement experience, advanced education or advanced training in criminal justice or related field is preferred.
