About the Candidate / Role
Tradewind Aviation is looking for a full-time Dispatcher to be based in Oxford, CT. Dispatchers handle flight and crew schedules within the next 48 hours. They will work closely with Flight Coordinators to ensure clients are receiving the best possible customer service. The ideal candidate will maintain situational awareness and address issues as soon as practical. They must work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.
Must be flexible with work schedule and able to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Dispatch Supervisors
- Maintain a culture of total client service, focused on anticipating client needs and exceeding their expectations.
- Interface with all Tradewind departments to ensure effective communication for continued workflow.
- Identify safety hazards and report to a supervisor or through the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Handle flights over the next 48 hours.
- Arranging international handling with customs/vendors.
- Set up slots or reservations with airports.
- Plan crew logistics.
- Optimization of schedule.
- Provide availability to Charter Sales team.
- Monitor weather conditions in operational areas.
- Coordinate aircraft maintenance as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4 years of aviation experience or 2 years of aviation dispatch/scheduling experience.
- FAA Dispatch certificate preferred.
- Dispatch and/or scheduling experience in FAR 135 operations preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times.
