We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Leader to join our team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our company by selling our exceptional products to both new and existing customers. Your expertise in identifying and understanding customer needs will be crucial to effectively presenting our solutions and building strong, lasting relationships. In this position, you will proactively anticipate the industries’ current and future requirements, fostering a collaborative environment to generate sales leads and explore new market opportunities. You will become a part of a US subsidiary of a highly recognized European sensor and controls manufacturing company that has ambitious plans to enlarge its footprint in the United States. Increasing brand awareness and profitably growing market share are key to this growth.
Responsibilities:
- Drive creation and management of a robust sales pipeline to exceed revenue goals, encompassing proactive prospecting and effective sales cycle management.
- Manage complex sales cycles, including specifications, evaluations, proposals, and RFQs.
- Provide timely follow-up on leads, inquiries, and customer issues.
- Support distribution and channel partners, fostering relationships and tracking milestones.
- Represent company at trade shows, serving as trusted advisor to clients and prospects.
- Negotiate sales contracts and maintain profit targets.
- Provide regular updates on sales activity and market intelligence.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns and leverage internal resources for differentiated offerings.
- Lead projects or teams as needed, exhibiting exemplary organizational and leadership skills.
- Participate in monthly reviews, forecasting, and business planning sessions to drive progress and capitalize on opportunities.
- Negotiate terms and pricing on sales contracts and close orders to meet sales budgets.
- Collaborate with various departments to coordinate sales efforts and ensure customer purchase and service requirements are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales activity, key contacts, and account management records in the CRM system.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of sensing and controls, measurement and instrumentation equipment professional sales experience.
- Possess a winning track record of exceeding revenue and market share objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience. In addition, strong preference for MBA.
- Strong desire to win with a competitive spirit and ability to find new opportunities.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to take a complex technical product and articulate it to prospects with the right value proposition.
- National travel (50-70% of the time) to grow and maintain strong customer connections, primarily in the East / Southeast.
- Strong CRM proficiency is a plus.
- Preference for a candidate who understands the dynamics of working for an international company with a US subsidiary.
