Provide on-site support and supervision to residents in a group home or apartment building setting. Provides instruction with budgeting, community utilization, socialization, use of leisure time, and activities of daily life. Provide trauma-informed crisis management and intervention resulting in positive outcomes. Ability to engage group of residents with mental illness and build supportive relationships
The Counselor I provides services to adults who are diagnosed with a mental illness and substance use disorder. The Counselor I will assist the Co-occurring Disorder (COD) Specialist in facilitating groups, providing training, and acting as a resource for substance use disorder topics.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field
OR
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field; and one year paid direct service experience in a mental health or human services setting
OR
- Associate's degree in a human services related field and three (3) years of paid experience in human services
Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable personal automobile, pass all background and drug clearances, fully vaccinated or willing to be.
