Key Responsibilities
- Perform month end closing processes for assigned line(s) of business including journal entries, account analysis and internal financial reports.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Understand insurance carrier data to include contracts, commissions and policy data.
- Responsible for commission statement allocations as well as additional analysis as needed.
- Perform other duties as required to support the understanding and analysis of the profitability of the company and related lines of business.
- Prepare journal entries related to fixed assets and additional required reporting.
- Assist with external audit requests.
- Work with colleagues across the organization to resolve discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Special projects as needed.
- Participate in and contribute positively to work/team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4 years of accounting experience
- COA certification is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Excel; Oracle experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and high attention to detail
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Organized and strong time management skills

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
