Position Summary:
Under general supervision, the Facility Door Technician is responsible for performing duties associated with furnishing, installing and servicing automatic and manual door systems and components.
Major Position Responsibilities:
The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner. - Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
- Installs, services, and repairs opening and closing mechanisms of automatic doors.
- Repairs non-operating systems, using hand tools, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
- May repair frames and door units, using cutting tools & hand tools.
- May repair and install systems actuated by electronic-eye mechanism.
- Repair door and auto operator related issues.
- Maintain safe working environment and upon completion of day’s work ensure job site is clean and clear of debris.
- May work on other maintenance orders associated with the facility
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience with inspection, maintenance and/or repair of automatic doors and fire rated assemblies, required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of hospital experience, preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience with access control systems, preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of machines and basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift 100lbs, required.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
