Role:
To guarantee the management of all ward and client income and the payment of all ward and client financial obligations and needs. To assist in the maintenance of all benefit levels to secure continued entitlements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
15�velop, revise, and maintain individual budgets for each assigned ward/client. Consult with wards/ clients and external parties as needed to secure necessary information to develop and revise budgets.
5% Deposit checks. Process deposits on computerized system and/or on-line banking. Verification through the reconciliation process.
40% Disburse resources through computerized system and/ or through on-line banking to satisfy financial obligations and personal needs of wards/ clients. Secure and maintain documentation regarding disbursements that may be required in the event of an audit.
4% Assist in the procurement and/or maintenance of benefits through file research and/or contact with internal and external sources to secure necessary verifications.
35% Maintain fully documented records by program protocols and procedures.
Maintain client and office files in an organized and retrievable manner.
1% Develop a basic understanding of Guardianship Laws and Responsibilities.
Perform any and all other duties deemed necessary by the Director and/or Designee.
Performance Measurements:
1.Budgets reflect up to date obligations and allow the ward and client a level of monthly savings by program protocols and procedures.
2.Ward and client obligations are managed in a timey manner.
3.Sufficient documentation is available to demonstrate prudent and effective management of the ward's resources.
4.Review of case files and financial tracking spreadsheets and client blocks will provide necessary oversight and compliance of identified tasks.
5.Tracking of training provided and attendance.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Must have office and business experience. Organizational skills needed. Must have a financial skill set. Ability to work in short-term, high stress situations. Ability to work independently and with other people.
Education: A high school education or GED. Bookkeeping or accounting certificate(s) or equal experience. Job specific skills acquired through on-the-job training.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Ability to learn and retain multiple regulatory guidelines and requirements.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Must have excellent observation and communications skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work in short-term, high stress situations.
Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures.
Computer literacy.
Physical Requirements: The ability to work in conditions that are compromising relative to the cleaning out of assigned wards homes, storage units, etc.
The ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and/or to assist other staff associates with large furniture or other personal belongings.
