Job Summary:

The Early Care and Education program is looking for a temporary (grant funded) part time staff position that will serve as our ECE Practicum Placement Coordinator for the 2025-2026 Academic year. This position will support the ECE program to identify and secure practicum placements for TCTC ECE students, working with all 7 local school districts, SHARE Head Start, and childcare facilities in our three-county service area. The coordinator will receive and electronically file all practicum-required background documents. During the semester, this staff member will serve up to 25 hours of observational check-ins with on-the-spot coaching and mentorship for students in practicum/field placement settings. This staff person will be responsible for logging mileage traveled and will also share weekly reports with the lab course Instructors. Up to 25 hours for 31 weeks with a pay rate of $30 per hour plus mileage reimbursement and fringe benefit. (Estimating $29,000 mileage)

This position will be instrumental in supporting ECE retention efforts through the relational and direct in-the-field supports being offered. The Practicum Placement Coordinator will also serve to improve personalized, timely, and direct feedback for ECE students as they prepare to lead teaching activities and complete observational assessment documentation.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and SC teaching licensure in Early Childhood Education with at least 5 years of early childhood teaching experience
