What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Tri-County Veterinary Services?

We are seeking one or more dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team to fill one full time position and one part-time position. The ideal candidate(s) will have a passion for animal care and be able to master the skills necessary to the position. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians in providing top-notch care to our furry patients.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Handle and restrain animals during treatments
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and kennel areas
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals
- Answer phones, make appointments
Expectations:
- Prior experience is a plus but is NOT required
- Consistent and reliable work history with positive references
- Experience in animal husbandry practices is a plus, but again is NOT required
