Position Highlights : The Loan Consultant is responsible for handling a large pipeline and meeting / exceeding monthly production goals.
Additional responsibilities include continually identifying, developing, and maintaining customer financing objectives, advising customers of product / pricing policies and guidelines while gathering any additional required information.
The Loan Consultant ensures the borrower is receiving exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for FHA, VA and Conventional Loans.
This position may support several branches and hold multiple NMLS State licenses.Position Responisibilites : In conformity with company policies, procedures, and applicable law, the Loan Consultant will collect and analyze each customer's financial information and assess if the individual can qualify for a specific loan product while managing a heavy volume pipeline for multiple states.
Advise the potential borrower regarding the risks and benefits of the loan alternatives, including the options and variables involved.
Discuss the loan products available to best meet the needs of the individual depending on their circumstances.Ascertain all pertinent documentation to ensure the loan is approved.
Obtain necessary supporting documentation and verify that the supporting documentation matches the information in the LOS.
Communicate effectively with all parties to include the homebuyer, the mortgage branch, New Home Advisor, Processing team, Underwriting team, Closing, title company, and the builder partner.
Perform the Rate Lock function, negotiating interest rates as necessary while staying within branch pricing parameters.Manage personal production and ensure closings are handled appropriately and timely.
Attend weekly meeting as required.Use the appropriate Automated Underwriting System and submit loans to Underwriting department.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of how to originate loans based on the state, federal and investor guidelines.Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all products, attend relevant continuing education classes and pass all required state / national exams as required.
Position Qualifications : Bachelors degree preferred.Bilingual in English and SpanishMinimum 3-5 years of processing or origination experience, preferably within a builder environmentNMLS State license in multiple states to include CA, WA, CO, NV, AZ, TX, NC, SC, VA, DC, MDThorough knowledge of all mortgage products to include FHA, VA, and Convential loansWorking knowledge of loan origination systems, Encompass a plusWorking knowledge of automated underwriting systemsStrong overall computer skills, specifically Microsoft office productsJob-Specific Core Competencies : Exceptional customer service skillsExcellent communications skills, written and verbalProven relationship building skillsAbility to multi-task and work in a high paced environmentAbility to manage a large pipeline of loansDeadline drivenStrong negotiation and persuasion skillsOrganized and attentive to detailExcellent problem solving skillsStrong analytical skillsTeam player with the ability to work independentlyAt Tri Pointe Homes, we are intentional about fostering an environment where you, and all individuals, are encouraged to be their authentic selves.
