What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Polisher position at Triad Manufacturing, Inc.?
Triad Manufacturing, Inc., an employee owned, local manufacturer of store fixtures, has an immediate opening for a Metal Polisher. The successful candidate must have 5 years of experience. This position is primarily responsible for the set-up and operation of the various buffing, grinding, and polishing operations to assure efficiency, quality, and safety for the timely manufacturing of product to customer specifications. Candidate must be able to grind, brush and polish all materials 120 grit finish #4 and mirror finish #8.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with the Polishing Supervisor in maintaining a polishing center for the fabrication department.
- Follows the written procedures for the operation of the machines.
- Responsible for the operation of buffing, grinding, and polishing stations to achieve the finish specified on blueprints or engineering drawings. Utilizes the various types and sizes of polishing tools to achieve the finish specified for the metal stock and the shape of the part.
- Has all work at each step of production inspected to assure compliance with company's Quality Standards and Procedures.
- Keeps Supervisor informed of any quality variances.
- Cleans and organizes department's workstations.
- Completes tasks delegated by Supervisor.
- Displays a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks.
- Assists in developing solutions to problems.
- Works within a team concept and contributes to a positive work environment.
- Assures the work area and aisles are kept clean and free of debris.
- Maintains a safe work attitude and environment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blue prints
- Knowledge of properties of metal.
- Ability to do simple mathematical calculations.
- Ability to interpret job paperwork and instructions clearly.
