The Claims Coordinator ensures timely and accurate resolution of claims while minimizing financial impact.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Management:
- Receive and review claims related to freight damage, loss, accidents, and other trucking-related incidents.
- Document and file claims in the system, ensuring all relevant information is captured accurately.
- Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and other internal teams to gather necessary details about the incident.
- Monitor the progress of claims to ensure they are resolved efficiently and within the required timeframes.
- Investigate the cause of accidents or freight claims by reviewing reports, interviewing involved parties, and analyzing data.

Communication:
- Act as the primary contact for the company, drivers, and other relevant parties regarding claims.
- Provide updates on claim status to all relevant parties and ensure clear communication throughout the claims process.
- Prepare and send formal correspondence related to claims, including notices, settlements, and denials.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain organized and detailed records of all claims, including photographs, incident reports, and correspondence.
- Prepare and analyze regular reports on claims status, trends, and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in preparing claims data for audits, insurance renewals, and legal cases.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all claims are handled in compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and insurance requirements.
- Identify potential risks and escalate them to management, proposing strategies to mitigate future claims.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices in claims management.
Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional service to customers by handling claims promptly, professionally, and fairly.
- Manage company expectations by clearly explaining the claims process and timelines.
- Work to maintain positive relationships with customers, even in challenging situations.
