What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk position at Tricounty Health Department?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for performing administrative and clerical tasks for clients and the nursing department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
• Greet visitors by phone and in person
• Provide assistance with directions, form completion, creating appointments, accepting payments, etc.
• Interview client or representative while entering information required for admission into electronic medical record system (EMRS)
• Collect client's insurance information and scan into EMRS
• Create appointments in the EMRS for specific staff members
• Assist with billing clients insurances via the EMRS system
• Assist WIC clients with scheduling, food packets, card refills, etc.
• Assist with vital record services
• Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is accurate and complete
• Answer telephone calls and assist and/or direct them to the correct department or employee
• Operate and maintain electronic medical records
• Receive and record client payments
• Maintain cash drawer
• Prepare and make daily deposit
• Maintain client paperwork, scanning and other front office functions
• Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two (2) years of medical clerical experience, preferred
