Electrical Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Engineer (ICCP Systems - Impressed Current Cathodic Protection)
Location: Arlington, VA
Reporting to: Director of Engineering Operations
Travel: Up to 30% year 1, must be able to travel internationally.
Clearance: Must be capable of acquiring secret clearance
Summary
- Work with the Chief Engineer to design, develop and maintain ICCP systems across a range of platforms.
- Will ensure that the customer requirements are achieved by using up-to-date and cost-effective design methodology.
- Will develop a good understanding of how ICCP systems operate and can be optimized.
- Able to lead and support other engineers to achieve affordable and fully qualified products.
Responsibilities
- Electrical/Electronic design of TMS products in accordance with customer and legislative requirements and our internal procedures.
- Ensure the company's product design and development requirements are met in terms of quality (accuracy), program (on time) and cost (within budget).
- Maintain the appropriate professional standards on projects and provide guidance and support to other Engineers and employees on all matters relating to Electrical/Electronic design, development, verification and manufacture to the relevant standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant technology and practice with a particular emphasis on Electrical/Electronic Engineering including commercial and rugged equipment.
- Provide technical support to other departments on the design aspects of new business and provide the appropriate documentation when requested.
- Undertake concept design and sufficient detail design, and offer guidance thereon, as is necessary to support technical staff allocated to specific projects and product development.
- Provide or obtain estimated prime cost information to enable new tasks and projects to be priced and quoted.
- Management of all activities undertaken, reporting on the technical aspects and resource utilization achieved.
- To report to management any comments or suggestions which may improve efficiency, safety and cost.
- Identify, justify and implement process improvements to ensure design procedures are cost effective and aligned to business / product requirements.
- To carry out any other duties that may be delegated by senior management commensurate with the conduct of the company’s business.
- To work on other company products/projects and on occasion at other sites if necessary.

Knowledge Required
- 5 years relevant industry experience in Electrical/Electronic design.
- Experience in design using Electrical/Electronic CAD software, MRP systems and MS Office.
Knowledge of the following:
- Simulation and design of power supplies/amplifiers.
- Design and routing of cable systems within a product.
- Cooling requirements for electronic and electrical components.
- Low noise and precision A/D and D/A circuits.
- Microprocessor and ancillary circuit design.
- Compliance with regulations and standards (Mil Std & Def Std).
- Control theory, modeling, system stability calculation.
- Design of ICCP system and amplifiers.
- Specifications of ships cabling, volt drop to anode.
Education & Qualifications
- Appropriate Engineering qualification such as BEng, BSME/Meng/MSc.
- Professional registration desirable (C.Eng. & MIET or working towards).
