Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Occupational Therapy Lead, you will perform highly skilled evaluations of assigned patients. You will plan, provide, and evaluate therapy for assigned patients, including completion of all necessary oral and written documentation. You will also participate in inter-disciplinary team meetings.

• You will administer occupational therapy according to ethical standards of the American Occupational Therapy Association, South Carolina State licensure rules, hospital policies and procedures, and other applicable regulatory requirements
• You will document diagnosis of patients and take precautions for observing indications and contraindications
• You will maintain accurate records of treatment
• You will administer re-evaluations and assessments ordered, and document thoroughly and promptly
• You will exhibit knowledge and skill for treatment of general medical pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics
• You will communicate with attending physicians for clarification or elaboration of prescribed orders
• You will observe and evaluate treatment effects by updating goals, recommending changes to physicians, discussing patient’s condition and treatment course with physician, and participating in patient discharge planning and follow up care
• You will assess the patient’s psychological needs and cognitive function and provide appropriate treatment strategies
• You will direct the activities of the Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitative Service Technicians
• You will schedule patients, Therapists, and Technicians
• You will provide guidance and training to employees

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant
