Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lab Tech II to join our privately owned chemical company, Trifecta Trading, LLC. This role plays a vital role in our company’s lab growth. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of safety, testing, quality, and lab techniques.

Required Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field

· Proficient in Microsoft, SharePoint, and Teams

· Integrity, with ability to handle confidential information

· 5 years of lab experience

· 3 years of experience in the chemical industry a plus

· ISO certified a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Evaluate new processes, lab resources, equipment, software, and instrumentation required

· Test chemicals for production needs

· Maintain lab equipment

· Be crossed trained with all Lab employees

· Perform correct deviations in personnel lab methodologies

· Use chemical principles to evaluate feasibility of new customer product request

· Correct deficiencies in lab processes

· Design formulations to consume off-spec products

· Establish calibration schedule and source accredited vendors for instrumentation calibration

· Assist in establish contract pricing for lab consumables

· Organize lab set up to for efficiency

· Keeps recordkeeping for lab documentation

· Writes technical documents to support lab evaluations

· Creates needed lab documents, instructions, SOP’s, guidelines, etc

· Suggest solution and oversee follow-through for quality issues

· Complete certificates of analysis (COA’s) for all our chemical companies

· Perform lab blends, dilutions, or any other formula

· Conduct trials in lab

· Investigate product issues

· Perform lab competency evaluations

· Knowledge of IATA/DOT for sample shipments

· Perform instrument validation and fit for purpose testing

· Develop and track lab metrics

· Produce suggestions to improve lab’s performance and efficiency

· Track product / performance data

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: To perform the job successfully, an individual should be able to perform their duties under the following conditions:

  • Ability to work in an office and laboratory environment, as well as outdoor if needed.
  • Outside work is subject to any and all elements
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to work in elevated work areas
  • Able to work with wrenches and other basic tools
  • Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to climb under rail cars
  • Able to handle working with chemicals, acids and petroleum products using respiratory protection as needed.
