Position Overview
Trinity Employment Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a unionized, construction-focused company. This role is well-suited for an experienced professional who is comfortable managing payroll and maintaining accurate financial records in a construction environment. The primary accounting system used is FOUNDATION, with training provided as needed. Familiarity with QuickBooks is helpful, though not required.
This position offers hands-on experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and job-cost tracking while supporting daily office and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using FOUNDATION accounting software
- Process payroll, including calculating wages, applying deductions, and submitting payroll taxes and W-2s
- Track employee hours and benefit deductions for both union and non-union employees
- Assist with job-cost tracking, expense allocation, and construction project reporting
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular basis
- Prepare financial summaries and internal reports for management
- Organize and maintain digital and physical financial records
- Utilize Excel to track data, create reports, and improve bookkeeping efficiency
- Provide general office support as needed, including vendor coordination and document management
Qualifications
- Prior bookkeeping experience with required payroll processing experience
- Experience with FOUNDATION software preferred; training will be provided
- Some familiarity with QuickBooks is helpful
- Strong computer skills with comfort using Excel for data tracking and reporting
- Intermediate understanding of payroll taxes and W-2 preparation (advanced tax knowledge not required)
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information professionally
