Financial Assistant/Bookkeeper
The Finance Assistant is responsible for basic accounting duties that include, but are not limited to, cash receipts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and database management. The finance assistant reports directly to the Business Manager.
Hourly: Monday through Friday 7:30 am -3:30 pm. FLSA Non Exempt
Sedentary requiring to lift 20 pounds at various times.
Job Description
1. Cash Receipts
a. Verifies individual deposits submitted by clubs/departments/athletics.
b. Prepares weekly bank deposits.
2. Accounts Payable
a. Process invoices for payment utilizing the Diocesan NAV Software System.
3. Tuition Management
a. Maintains tuition payment database- Simple Tuition Solutions (outsource).
b. Reconciles database periodically throughout the year.
4. Account Receivable
a. Compiles and maintains student debt list, parking, rental invoice and misc. revenue.
b. Reviewing and interpreting monthly financial statements.
5. General
a. Telephone and email inquiries.
b. Filing.
c. Completing employee time reports and time cards.
d. Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, requires mature, detailed oriented individual with above average keyboard skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to understand and follow instructions as well as work independently. Individual must have an adequate background in business and bookkeeping or accounting. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to handle multiple duties with sense of prioritization. Maintain the highest confidentiality in all issues.
