About This Position
The Food Service Worker accurately and efficiently prepares a variety of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions and menus. This position also utilizes a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Verify accurate counts of products and supplies
- Maintain proper rotation of ingredients and refrigerated/frozen food items
- Load and unload trucks as necessary.
- May be assigned other tasks associated with the warehouse operation and/or kitchen as needed
- Stocks and organizes the warehouse.
- Follows sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Supervise and Direct Inmate Labor
- Order Paper, Cleaning, tools, & Food products based on menus
- Ensure delivery Vehicles are inspected
- Oversee and Manage Drivers duties
- Conduct daily and weekly inspections of areas
- Conduct Inmate and staff training
- Tool Control
- Schedule Preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment.
- Support all deliveries to kitchens and orders
- Reconcile weekly usage report
- Other duties as determined by the needs of the business
What You'll Need
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year or more experience in a food service role
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
- ServSafe Food Handler certification is preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment
