Responsible for meeting with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) students to develop and approve accommodation plans under thedirection of the SAS Director.
Reviews documentation to determine eligibility for SAS services. Makes recommendations to the Director for reasonable and appropriate accommodations for students applying for services. Coordinates reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. Meets with active and incoming SAS clients to verify the adequacy and effectiveness of existing accommodations and services provided. Confers with the Director to make adjustments, as necessary.
Administers accommodation letters to faculty.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Education, or related area from four-year college or university.
Preferred:
Master's degree or equivalent in Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Education, or related area.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
One year of professional experience working in a programmatic setting.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in higher education.
Experience working with a college-age students with accommodations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Preferred:
Understanding of evaluations/IEP/504.
Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Knowledge of FHA/HUD/OCR legal mandates
