Position: IT Business

Trisian-Global Consulting LLC is seeking a local IT Business Analyst to work on-site in Memphis TN. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT, Finance and business analysis, with a solid understanding of technology and its applications with respect to large scale financial / accounting systems. The IT Business Analyst will work closely with internal clients to understand their business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

This is a contract to hire role with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Collaborate with clients to gather and document business requirements
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for developers and other team members
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure project goals and objectives are met
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues
  • Perform user acceptance testing and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to make recommendations for process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst working with Finance Systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in project management and delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with requirements gathering and documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Overall Purpose and Objective of Position

This position will analyze existing processes and requirements, document gaps with existing functionalities, and generally facilitate the implementation of the front office system with minimal business impact. The objectives are to ensure that the system meets business requirements; that users are trained and use the system correctly; and that support is delivered in a pro-active and efficient manner. You will work as part of the Regional Project Team, interacting closely with the Regional Project Manager, other Business Analysts, and Functional Teams.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Understand and document current business processes

Understand project scope and business priorities, including clarify scope

Conducting gaps analyses between the as-is and to-be processes, identifying gaps with existing system functionalities, reports, and controls

Running workshops to identify current and best-practice procedures

Running training workshops with key stakeholders and end users

Understand system functionalities and be able to recommend solutions and improvements

Document functional specifications and work closely with the Regional and Global teams to facilitate developments

Act as first line support to the business in case of issues during project and act as second line support post go-live

Contribute to regular project and business meetings, provide progress updates, report issues and risks

Manage stakeholders’ expectations for support/enhancements requests and communicate clearly release delivery timeline (once confirmed with IT)

Help to develop and manage key stakeholder relationships

Support the Project Manager throughout the project (e.g. defining scope, estimating resource requirements, timelines)

Experience

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

1 year minimum as a Business Analyst, 2 years preferred

Bachelor's Degree in a Finance-related discipline preferred

1 to 2 years of experience working as Business Analyst in a Finance-related area

Good knowledge of key Financial processes and best practice

Commodities trading, inventory or logistics experience an advantage

Understanding of Project Management methodology and best practices

Good Microsoft Visio and Excel skills

Business Analysis Certification a strong advantage

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including Any Physical Demands)

Personal honesty, competence and integrity in functional leadership in Business Analysis, processes, tools and techniques.

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees as well as outside parties to communicate expectations and make recommendations to facilitate change.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize workloads and perform multiple tasks that might have conflicting priorities.

Self-directed with a high sense of urgency and strong bias for action in a highly dynamic and demanding work environment.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills and creative problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated experience and effectiveness to work in cross-cultural and geographically dispersed teams.

Broad range of computer skills including functional knowledge of Microsoft programs, especially MS Word, Excel and Power Point.  Microsoft Access, OneNote, Teams and SharePoint will be beneficial.

Analyzes back-office business systems and integration processes; devises/conducts gap analysis surveys and documents operational specifications requirements; reviews systems and makes recommendations for customization based on knowledge of relevant business processes; recommends procedural changes to operational personnel and management as deemed necessary.
