Triton High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop the JV program. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, competitive, and educational athletic experience, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic success. This position works closely with the Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Director to maintain alignment within the basketball program.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct effective JV basketball practices focusing on fundamental skill development, conditioning, and team strategies.
Teach and reinforce proper techniques, game rules, and sportsmanship.
Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure consistency in program philosophy, play style, and player development.
Coach the JV team during all games, scrimmages, and team events.
Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to support growth.
Manage player conduct, academic expectations, and team culture in accordance with school and athletic department policies.
Maintain open and professional communication with players, parents, school staff, and administration.
Ensure all athletes follow safety guidelines and injury-prevention best practices.
Coordinate equipment needs, uniform distribution, and gym usage with the athletic department.
Support the varsity program as needed, including attending varsity practices or games when appropriate.
