What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at Triton Regional School District?
Triton Regional School District has an anticipated need for a School Psychologist for school year 2022-2023 to work in the district therapeutic programs at the elementary and middle school level. These programs will service students in kindergarten through eight grade. The full-time school psychologist will complete formal, comprehensive psycho-educational assessments for special education eligibility, administer Functional Behavioral Assessments for students who have experienced trauma, develop behavior intervention plans, and provide small group 1:1 counseling.Experience, training and responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Experience with conducting comprehensive formal assessment for students with cognitive, academic, behavioral and social/emotional needs; - Knowledge of special education laws and regulations that govern the identification of children with disabilities; - Strong positive, interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, program coordinators, administration and families; - Highly effective oral and written communication skills that promote and encourage collaboration with colleagues, parents, and administrators; - Ability to multitask and work within a fast-paced environment; - Highly effective executive functioning skills including being well-organized, strong time management skills, and able to work independently to meet timelines. - Experience with and commitment to inclusion that benefits students socially, emotionally and academically; - Experience with varied profiles and disabilities including but not limited to mild/moderate academic learning disabilities, emotional impairment, attention/hyperactivity, autism, social cognition, and other atypical learner profiles; - Routinely attend district and school based meetings; - Routinely attend district and school based training and professional development;- Willingness to participate in crisis prevention training; - Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and write progress notes; - Develop and oversee the implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans- Collaborate with the district BCBA, school based social worker, special education and general education teachers regarding behavior and mental health supports; - Experience with group or 1:1 counseling in a school setting; - Experience working with students who are struggling with emotional/behavioral disorders and self-regulation
