The Blender Operator locates and stages product to be blended, loads and unloads the blender, and moves outgoing product to the specified staging area for shipment out of the plant. The purpose of this position is to create a homogeneous mix of plastic pellets or shredded/granulated plastic from several smaller batches, or to produce a finished lot from compounded plastic.

The purpose of this position is to create a homogeneous mix of plastic pellets or shredded/granulated plastic from several smaller batches, or to produce a finished lot from compounded plastic.
Essential Functions
- Follows shift start-up and shut-down procedures
- Operates blender scales
- Prepares blender for loading and unloading
- Packages blended product
- Delivers appropriate samples from post-blend material to lab in a timely manner
- Completes shift paperwork neatly and accurately
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures relating to cleaning of blenders, including fall protection inspection, air monitoring, and completion of confined space permit
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments
- Attention to detail
- High school degree or GED
- Lift up to 80 lbs. at waist level, up to 80 lbs. at floor level, and up to 40 lbs. at elevated level on a rare basis when moving products
- Display average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks
- Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products
- Stoop, kneel, or squat on an occasional basis when handling products
- Reach forward and to the side on an occasional basis when handling products
- Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift
- Climb steps on an occasional basis
- Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per shift
- Ability to be on feet for up to 8-12 hours per shift
- Climb steps/ladders on an occasional basis
