Fire System Service Technician

TRL Systems, a family-owned leader in fire life safety and security, is searching for a dedicated Fire Service Technician to join our growing team!
In this vital role, you'll ensure the safety of our communities by troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading fire alarm systems in various buildings. Your expertise will keep these critical systems functioning flawlessly, ready to protect lives in an emergency.

What you'll do:

• Troubleshooting Whiz: Diagnose and resolve issues with fire alarm systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
• Maintenance Master: Perform routine preventative maintenance to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
• Upgrade Expert: Complete small project installations, including upgrading or replacing fire alarm equipment to maintain optimal system performance.
• Communication Champion: Analyze work orders, plan your daily schedule, and effectively communicate with customers to understand their concerns.
• Problem-Solving Pro: Conduct tests, troubleshoot fire alarm system issues, and determine the best solutions to resolve them efficiently.
• Detailed Documenter: Accurately track your work by updating service tickets with billable time and materials.

To be successful, you'll need:

• 1-2 years of technical support experience
• 2-5 years of experience in low-voltage installation and service support.
• Possess a valid EST-3 certification or be able to obtain it within one year.
• Minimum education requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver License (or ability to obtain one) and proof of auto insurance.
• Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).

We also conduct pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations.

Work Environment:

• Be prepared for a variety of work locations, including construction sites, commercial buildings, high-rise/mid-rise buildings, and medical facilities (with potential patient contact).
• The role may require occasional work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and in confined spaces.
• This role involves physical activity such as driving for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, lifting equipment (occasionally up to 20 lbs), and prolonged standing or sitting.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
