POSITION OVERVIEW
Oversees and maintains all facets of the golf operation. Provides professional support, direction, management, training, and leadership to golf staff associates. Promotes and nurtures member relations and enhances the quality of the golf experience. Responsible for the day-to-day golf operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet activity, merchandise inventory, range operations, player service operations, golf instruction, and cart fleet.
- Lead and develop direct reports which include all golf-related personnel.
- Prepare and regularly review the golf operations business plan, including operational and capital expense budgets, golf sales initiatives, and course usage monitoring providing detailed performance analysis on an ongoing basis.
- Continually review, enhance, and implement world-class operational procedures and policies to ensure all areas of the golf operation are to a five-star standard.
- Positively manage the Club’s golf and social culture through personal and team engagement, promoting club events, arranging matches, encouraging family usage, delivering a wide category of golf clinics, and assisting with Troon Prive privileges for members.
- Maintains high visibility and frequently engages with members.
- Review, develop, train, and implement safety procedures for all golf operations associates.
- Collaborate closely with the Superintendent on course setup, playability, and aesthetics.
- Review and enhance golf programs which include youth clinics and programs, social events, and competitions.
- Effectively communicate to the Club’s membership on all golfing matters through a variety of channels, including the Club’s website, notice boards, and newsletter.
- Work with the Club’s department heads to ensure professional delivery of golf-related events.
- Manages payroll tasks as scheduled. Monitors hours to maximize productivity and balance payroll expenses with business demand.
- Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics to members and guests.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Assistant Golf Professionals, Teaching Professionals, Outside Operations Manager, Merchandise Manager, and Golf Services Attendants.
- Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Class A member of PGA/LPGA
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms. Frequently talks or hears, tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to fifty pounds.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY PREFERENCES
- Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., the associates are required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
- Experience with JONAS.
