Description

SUMMARY

The duties of a Pool Maintenance Supervisor are to install, service, and repair swimming pool equipment, such as water filters, pumps, and water systems.

Other responsibilities include mixing chemicals, testing the water, and maintaining the appropriate balance of chlorine and pH in the water.

$50,000-$65,000 depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all pool facilities, ensuring water quality and cleanliness.
  • Conduct regular inspections of pool areas and equipment, identifying and addressing any issues or needed repairs.
  • Logging and reporting equipment faults or water quality problems to managers.
  • Take daily pool / spa readings, and check filters, pump valves, tanks, gauges and vents
  • Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly at all times and that preventative maintenance measures are maintained to company standards.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in recommending minor or major repairs or replacements to any company equipment.
  • Repair underwater light fittings, cracks, leaks or faulty equipment
  • Performing preventative pool maintenance
  • Performing repair work in and around pools, filter room, chlorine room and on pool decks
  • Participating in emergency repair situations
  • Maintaining pump and motors at all pool facilities
  • Vacuums and brushes pool and spas
  • Keeping pool deck clean of debris
  • Add and / or adjust chemical as needed daily and log data
  • Check underwater pool lights
  • Clean pool and skim debris in water using a new and vacuum
  • Add swimming pool chemicals (e.g. chlorine) to maintain water quality
  • Makes minor adjustments and keeps equipment in good working order
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, including water quality standards and chemical usage.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all pool equipment and facilities.
  • Coordinate with the resort team to address any guest concerns or special requests related to the pool facilities.
  • Monitor inventory and order necessary supplies and chemicals for pool maintenance.
  • Ensure that all pool areas are properly secured and safe for guests, including appropriate signage and safety equipment.
  • Assist with budget preparation and manage expenses related to pool maintenance and operations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve pool maintenance procedures.
  • Test emergency lights in pool area and locker room to ensure proper operation
  • Inspect all bolts, ladders, starting blocks and guard chairs
  • Test ground fault interrupters
  • Clean pool vaults
  • Test handicap chair for proper operation
  • Drain all spas
  • Grease water circulating pumps, filter pumps, air blower unit
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the resort, verbal discussions and written correspondence.
  • Does not discuss work related issues with members and resort guests.
  • On a seasonal bass, remove and store cushions from cabanas for winter / return in spring
  • On a seasonal basis, clean and drain pools, winterize pools, drain water lines
  • Maintains positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • The ability to get into the water for cleaning and or repairs.
  • Flexible to work variable schedules
  • High School diploma or equivalent

SKILLS

Required

  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable

  • Hayward Cat 6000 controller experience
  • Springer Miller Software
  • Knowledge of Google Doc applications

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Requires a valid Oregon Driver License.
  • CPO, or the ability to obtain the certificate within 90 days of start date.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Local travel may be required. Regional travel for training purposes may be occasionally required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Inside 50% of an 8 hour shift. Outside 50% of an 8 hour shift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities : reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.

Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.

  • Constant need to perform the following physical activities : grasping, turning, finger, dexterity.
  • Occasionally, the need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Lifting / carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. Occasionally.
  • Vision requirements : constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
  • Hearing requirements : constant need to speak on the telephone and / or two-way radio, respond to the general public and converse with staff.

Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise subcontractors responsible for warranty issues and outside repairs.
