Truck & Equipment Corp. is a Mack truck, Hino truck, and Capacity yard tractor dealer located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The company offers sales of new and used trucks, leasing, parts, service, body shop, trailer shop, radiator shop, fuel injector testing, diesel fuel injection shop, and wash-bay services.

We have opened up a second Capacity dealer location in Winchester, VA. We also provide all makes truck parts and service through Winchester.

The service department has factory certified technicians on site to diagnose and repair your truck to get you back on the road. There is not a job to small or to large for the body shop or trailer repair shop.

We are looking for qualified Diesel Technicians to join our growing team for both Day and Night Shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy duty trucks according to company standards for labor time and customer satisfaction.
  • Thoroughly perform appropriate and necessary diagnostics to identify vehicle problem utilizing all available factory technical information and specified tools/equipment.
  • Perform visual inspection of components in questions and assess the situation in order to compile a repair path to complete the repairs.
  • Review service write-up to verify required work and secure needed parts from the Parts Department.
  • Perform vehicle repair as outlined on repair orders within specified time frame according to dealership policies.
  • Test drive vehicle operation following repair to ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed accurately and efficiently to prevent injury and further damage.
  • Complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed documenting all parts and labor costs.
  • Ensure warranty claims are properly documented and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Comply with federal (ie, OSHA), state, and local regulations governing safety and hazardous waste disposal.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning bay after all repairs are complete, properly disposing of waste materials, sweeping floors, and removing trash on a daily basis.

Qualification:

  • High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Training in the Automobile Field preferred.
  • Volvo/Mack Master Tech Certified and/or ASE Heavy Truck Certified preferred
  • Valid VA drivers’ license; subject to insurance approval.
  • Commercial Driver's License Preferred
  • ASE Certification preferred
  • Cummings Certified preferred

Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend diagnostic service information.
  • Ability to use appropriate power and hand-held tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, replace, and test equipment.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of operating and maintenance instructions including reading and interpreting safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork.
  • Ability to understand directions and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Detailed working knowledge of automotive safety standards and related regulations.
