CREDIT TEAM LEAD - Cordova, TN
Full Time / Non-Exempt
The Credit Team Lead will be the first line of support for a team of Credit Analysts and will be the liaison between the AR Manager and the Credit team. The Credit Team Lead will also be responsible for reviewing credit applications and establishing new accounts with appropriate credit limits. The Credit Team Lead will set up C.O.D. accounts and review existing accounts for credit limit increases. We seek an adaptable, confident, reliable and motivated team player with strong time management skills, a sharp eye for detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and resolve outstanding items from online credit application portal
- Gather information about clients seeking credit accounts
- Assess, analyze and interpret complex credit information
- Ensure company credit exposures are within set risk bearing limits
- Review credit applications and establish new accounts with appropriate credit limits
- Create C.O.D. accounts
- Review existing accounts for credit limit increases
- Maintain the customer master file for all customer accounts
- Assist customers and store managers with credit issues, including account reactivations
- Oversee team of Credit Analysts, including:
- Train new credit team members
- Manage team's time and attendance records
- Provide the first level of support for the credit team and act as the liaison between the credit team and AR Manager, providing a single contact
- Train credit team on company or system changes
- Approve credit limit overrides in management absence
- Approve credit limits for amounts beyond analyst threshold
- Perform in depth quarterly review on top accounts
EDUCATION:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of credit analysis work experience is required
- Experience leading a team is preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Basic computer skills
- General knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Great Plains experience a plus
- Thorough understanding of the complete Accounts Receivable process
- A keen understanding of risk analysis
- Current knowledge of key issues up-to-date (for example legal, market risk and compliance issues)
- Excellent customer service skills
