This part-time position handles front-desk administration, including scheduling, patient check-in/out, and insurance verification, while also performing pre-testing (e.g., autorefraction, tonometry).
Key Responsibilities
FRONT DESK & ADMINISTRATION DUTIES:
- Greet patients, answer phone inquiries, and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Verify vision and medical insurance coverage prior to appointments.
- Check patients in/out, collect payments, and manage patient records in EMR.
- Confirm appointments and manage recall lists.
OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN DUTIES:
- Perform preliminary testing: visual acuity, autorefraction, lensometry, and eye pressure (tonometry).
- Take patient history, update medical records, and assist with scribing.
- Perform special testing (e.g., visual fields, OCT) and sanitize equipment.
GENERAL OFFICE DUTIES:
- Maintain cleanliness of the pre-test room and waiting area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Prior experience in a medical office, particularly optometry, is highly preferred but not required (willing to train).
- Skills: Exceptional customer service, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer systems/EMR software.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work part-time hours at either clinic location (Weatherford or Clinton)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment as a team player.
