POSITION PURPOSE:

Provide organization, instruction and guidance to members of the Housekeeping staff. Ensure completion of daily objectives while maintaining Trump National Doral Miami Brand Standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate the efficient running of the Housekeeping departments on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that all reports required by various offices in the hotel are submitted on a timely basis.
  • Ensure that all associates have total compliance with all standards of operation and service standard requirements.
  • Review all customer comments and feedback relating to the Housekeeping and ensure that immediate action has been taken and formulate solutions to prevent dissatisfaction recurring. 
  • Ensure that all schedules are completed and meet the labor management guidelines.
  • Hold regular daily communication briefings with associates of all levels.
  • Carry out inspections of rooms, public areas and back of house areas on a regular basis to ensure that high standards are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that linen is properly controlled and ensure that quality of linen laundry service is reviewed daily.
  • Advise and coordinate special event decorations e.g. Christmas Holidays.
  • Ensure that uniforms for all staff are maintained and controlled. 
  • Propose and initiate when approved, new services and products for our guests.
  • Perform and oversee administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, purchasing and inventory management reports.
  • Participate in all regular and operational meetings as required. 
  • Manage projects and any other reasonable duties as required by hotel management

 

Human Resources

  • Assist with all issues of staff performance of all housekeeping and uniform associates. 
  • Develop Floor Supervisors through coaching within the department.
  • Ensure that all staff problems are handled expediently and tactfully.
  • Complete ownership for the ongoing training requirements in the division.
  • Interview, Select and train Housekeeping associates in proper work procedures and techniques.
  •  Supervise and Monitor work performance of associates by conducting room inspections. Provide coaching and counseling of associates and conduct performance reviews when needed.
  • Assist with all vacation and leave requests to ensure that staffing guidelines are covered.

 

Information Technologies

·      Work closely with the IT department to ensure that all deficiencies in guest room technology are reported and remedied immediately.

Engineering

  • Work closely with engineering department to coordinate the maintenance of all rooms and public areas as required.
  • Work constantly with the Engineering Management team to ensure that any out of order rooms are returned to inventory expediently.

 

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.


SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. 

·       Assist room attendants and house persons in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of daily tasks. 

·       Plan and implement hotel-wide changes such as those affecting amenity set-ups or communication pieces. 

·       Monitor proper use and compliance with hazardous chemicals and the Hazcom program. 

·       Expedite all requests by guests. 

·       Other duties as requested.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

·       Ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines. 

·       Ability to exercise independent judgment. 

·       Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively run the department and service guest needs. 

·       Ability to read and write basic English in order to complete necessary reports and understand instructions/information.

OTHER DUTIES:

Assimilate into Trump National Doral Miami Cultural Foundation through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Trump Cornerstones. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
 
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION 

At least 2 year college (associate) degree preferred 

 

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum of two years supervisory and/or management experience in Hotel industry preferred. Housekeeping department experience highly desirable. 

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES 

None 

 

GROOMING/UNIFORMS 

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process. 

 

OTHER 

Bi-lingual language ability (English/Spanish) preferred.
