Truss Components of Washington, a locally owned and operated manufacturer of high-quality roof and floor trusses and pre-framed wall panels, is seeking a driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team. We’re looking for someone confident, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and well-organized. Industry experience is a plus, but not required.

Compensation: Starting wage is $22.50 per hour, with opportunities to earn bonuses by completing stages of our structured training program. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities
- Interpret construction plans and documents
- Provide accurate project pricing, quotes, and timely follow-up
- Manage project orders from quote through delivery
- Conduct field verifications as needed
- Collaborate closely with our in-house design team to ensure customer needs are accurately understood and met
- Resolve jobsite issues and client concerns professionally and efficiently

Success in this role means consistently generating new leads, converting opportunities into projects, and maintaining strong customer relationships that result in repeat business. You'll play a key role in ensuring a seamless customer experience from initial contact to final delivery.
Training & Onboarding
To ensure our sales team is equipped with deep product knowledge and can serve customers with confidence, all new sales representatives will complete a hands-on training program. This includes direct experience in truss building, delivery logistics, and the design process. You’ll gain firsthand insight into how our products are made and delivered—setting you up for long-term success in the sales role and giving you the expertise to truly support your customers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Must be able to pass Physical Assessment Test (PAT) in order to perform on-the-job training in Manufacturing and Logistics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Insurable driving record (per company insurance policy)
- Comfortable driving to job sites, client locations, or supply vendors as needed
- Proven sales track record, ideally in the construction or building materials industry
- Familiarity with truss manufacturing processes, software, and production workflow is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with a results-driven, customer-first mindset
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings
- Strong spatial and problem-solving skills—able to visualize solutions from rough sketches
Additional Info
- This position includes regular local travel to job sites and customer locations
- Company vehicle, gas card, and credit card provided (after a probationary period)
- Company Laptop and phone will be provided.
Salary : $46,000 - $66,000
