Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to join our team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This senior-level role is responsible for implementing Trust Company of Oklahoma’s investment philosophy in client accounts through the strategic management of equity and fixed-income portfolios. This position will be the sole Portfolio Manager position in the Oklahoma City market and will be responsible for managing client portfolios in the Oklahoma City market. The position requires significant expertise in both client-facing responsibilities and investment management, balancing portfolio oversight with cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships. Specific responsibilities (depending on experience) include: client meetings, implementing strategic portfolio decisions, performing investment research and contributing to the firm’s overall investment success.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in portfolio management and a strong understanding of equity and fixed-income investments. They excel in leading client relationships and networking to drive business growth. This individual is proactive, analytical, and capable of delivering exceptional service while identifying opportunities to enhance client outcomes. They are skilled in collaborating with internal teams across various locations, resolving complex issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Portfolio Management: Manage client portfolios using individual stocks, bonds, and mutual funds selected from TCO’s approved-for-purchase list, ensuring optimal asset allocation and risk management.
• Investment Strategy: Develop investment objectives, asset allocation guidelines, and tailored investment strategies that align with client needs and market dynamics.
• Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of individual stocks and mutual funds to identify investment opportunities and support data-driven decision-making.
• Securities Selection: Evaluate and select securities for addition to TCO’s approved list, ensuring adherence to investment guidelines and strategic portfolio objectives.
• Client Engagement: Actively participate in client meetings, ensuring meaningful interactions that enhance relationships and align investment strategies with client objectives.
• Business Development: Support new business development initiatives by identifying growth opportunities and contributing to client acquisition efforts.
• Market Leadership: Serve as the primary portfolio manager for the Oklahoma City market, overseeing investment strategy, portfolio construction, and client asset management to drive market-specific growth and performance.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA, MS) preferred.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation required.
- 10 years of experience in portfolio management, investment strategy, or financial services, with a significant focus on client-facing and leadership roles. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills; expertise in equity and fixed-income portfolio management; ability to build and expand professional networks; proficiency in financial systems and regulatory compliance; collaborative and client-focused mindset; proven ability to cultivate and strengthen internal relationships to drive alignment and organizational success.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely to clients and colleagues.
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: Office-based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Occasional travel within the Oklahoma City market and to Tulsa will be required for training, client meetings and investment team meetings.
- Hours: Full-time position with standard business hours. Some flexibility may be required during peak reporting periods.
