Candidate should be flexible to ad-hoc reporting, assignments and projects, as assigned.
**Job Summary:**
The Medicaid Biller is responsible for managing the billing process for Medicaid/Government services, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. This role involves the timely submission of claims, follow-up on outstanding claims, and resolving billing issues to maximize revenue collection. The Medicaid Biller will work closely with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to facilitate a smooth billing process.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and submit Medicaid claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Review and verify patient information, insurance eligibility, and service documentation to ensure compliance with Medicaid requirements.
- Monitor and follow up on pending and denied claims to ensure timely resolution and payment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation and address billing discrepancies.
- Respond to inquiries from patients and insurance companies regarding billing issues, payment plans, and account balances.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid regulations, billing codes, and reimbursement policies.
- Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in training and mentoring new billing staff members as needed.
- Participate in audits and assist in implementing recommendations for process improvements.
- Candidate should be flexible to ad-hoc reporting, assignments and projects, as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in Medicaid billing or a similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and reimbursement processes.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
