Travel Pathology Assistant

Job Title: Travel Pathologist Assistant (Must be above 75 miles)

Location: Saranac Lake, NY

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Mon-Friday 7:30am – 4pm

Pay on 1099:
Blended Hourly Pay Rate (1099): $95.00
Weekly 1099 Traveler Pay Rate: $3,800.00

Pay on w2:
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $2,360.00

Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,240.00

Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $3,600.00

Note:

• 75-mile radius rule
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program
• NYS licensure as a Pathologist Assistant.
• One-year experience as a Pathologist Assistant
• Required experience in: Surgical Pathology / Histology, Cytology, General, Autopsy Pathology

Responsibilities

• Assist pathologists in the examination and processing of tissue specimens.
• Perform specimen collection and processing while adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Conduct laboratory procedures including histology, cytology, and other relevant techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of specimens and laboratory results.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Monitor vital signs as needed during specimen collection or patient interactions.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory environment.
• Stay updated on advancements in pathology and laboratory techniques.

Skills

• Clinical laboratory experience is essential for effective specimen handling and analysis.
• Research laboratory experience is beneficial for understanding experimental protocols.
• Proficiency in specimen collection and processing techniques is required.
• Strong knowledge of physiology to understand the implications of lab results on patient health.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred for familiarity with clinical settings.
• Phlebotomy skills are advantageous for blood collection procedures.
• Understanding of laboratory procedures and medical terminology is critical for communication within the team.
• Familiarity with various laboratory techniques to ensure accurate testing outcomes.
• Knowledge of anatomy to assist in the identification of pathological conditions.
• A solid foundation in pathology to support diagnostic processes effectively. This position requires a dedicated professional who is passionate about contributing to patient care through meticulous laboratory work and collaboration with medical teams.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $90.00 - $95.00 per hour
