Summer 2026 - Design Flow and Automation Engineer Intern (7263)

Overview of Role

TSMC’s Design Flow Signoff team is seeking a Design Flow and Automation Engineer Internship at the Austin Design Center for Summer 2026. The intern will report directly to the Director of the Design Flow Signoff Department. Our team covers a broad range of tools, including implementation, timing/EM/IR/power modeling, and analysis. We currently operate under a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office.

This Internship Program is open to students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking University that are graduating in 1 year to 2 years with a MS/PhD degree.

• Currently working towards a M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (or other Engineering fields with a strong mathematics/statistics background, or a related AI field)
• Python, C/C , Unix experience required
• Experience with EDA tools for circuit simulation, timing analysis and library characterization
• Experience with data wrangling, pre-processing, and extraction from structured and unstructured data sources
• Experience with classical machine learning, deep learning, foundation models, to develop data-driven solutions

• Proficiency with digital design flows, especially signoff flows also desirable
• Understanding of how digital devices and standard cells work
• Understanding of reinforcement learning, Large Language Models

At the time of this posting, this role typically pays an hourly rate between $35.00 and $42.00 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range. Factors that influence pay include the individual's skills, qualifications, education, experience and the position level and location.
