What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shredder Maintenance Supervisor position at TT&E Iron & Metal, Inc.?
Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) a subsidiary of TT&E Iron and Metal is searching for a Shredder Maintenance Supervisor 2nd shift for our facility in Garner, NC.
DUTIES
Responsibilities would include maintenance and production of a metal shredder and downstream, including light equipment, heavy duty equipment, conveyor systems, and general facility maintenance. Functions include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work.
Three years of experience supervising employees in the similar scrap handling work or manufacturing operations desired. Hands on experience with the operation and maintenance of shredders and material handling equipment (e.g. cranes, loaders).
Skills
Employee must demonstrate good people skills in supervising the work employees. Must be able to communicate with and motivate the work force to assure the completion of mechanical and maintenance repairs as expeditiously and cost effectively as possible, to avoid work stoppages while maintaining safety. Should be able to operate the shredder and heavy equipment (e.g. front end loaders, cranes, and mill operator). Should have good understanding of the operation of equipment and be able to determine problems and be able to make decisions to solve the problem. Must have some knowledge of different types of scrap metal.
Physical Activities Required To Perform Essential Functions
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed. Walk and be outside 8-10 hours per day. Ability to weld and cut with oxyfuel equipment is preferred. Assist and Supervise other employees to install/fabricate/alter and repair mill components and NF Production components.

Pay: $100,000/annually or hourly equivalent (depending on experience)

- Manage 2nd shift employees.
- Identify/troubleshoot all conveyor systems and various metals processing equipment.
- Performs routine and technical maintenance and repairs on conveyor and metals metal processing equipment.
- Ability to identify/troubleshoot/perform minor electrical issues
- Fabrication and welding a must.
- Performs maintenance during unscheduled system downtime on conveyor systems and various metals processing equipment.
- Organizes and/or cleans the yard as needed
- Works with all safety guidelines and requirements, and Leads training of safety standards to personnel.
- Other routine tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by Shredder Manager / Supervisor.
