TT Electronics’ Minneapolis, Minnesota facility, is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of custom and standard magnetic components and assemblies. The Minneapolis-based site has over 50 years of design experience and specializes in the creation of innovative and sophisticated solutions for solving customer magnetic technology needs. We use cutting-edge materials and state-of-the-art design technology to deliver products across a broad range of industries including renewable energy, medical device, aerospace/aviation/automotive, electronics, food processing, instrumentation, industrial control, telecommunications and HVAC applications.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
Performs daily activities to control inventory and support perpetual inventory system accuracy. Activities include receiving, stocking and issuing material to satisfy customer sales orders, jobs, stocking requirements, company policies and regulatory requirements. Also plays a key role in both periodic cycle counts and the annual physical inventory count process. Data entry activity must be performed both accurately and timely in order to reflect inventory on hand and inventory movement. Must control inventory movement based on defined authorizations. Receives little day-to-day supervision and must perform tasks in a timely manner
- Counts, sorts or weighs incoming material as required in order to verify against the applicable purchase order or RMA. Assures parts that require lot tracking are properly recorded. Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
- Assures parts are properly identified and stored in designated stock location/bins according to style, size or type of material. Must consider shelf-life (temperature and humidity, etc), height and weight limits, FIFO (first in/first out), floor loading capacity and required space.
- Assures regulatory compliance.
- Uses hand truck/fork-lift to move, convey or hoist inventory to warehouse bins or work in process.
- Needs ability to lift and/or move stock up to 50 pounds in order to transport material within the facility. Must have mobility to use ladder or mobile steps.
- Issues parts from stock based on authorizing job material pick lists, sales order pick lists and material requisitions. Issues/cuts stock to fufill job order or requirements. Moves non-inventory expense materials to requisitioning department after issue transaction is processed.
- Enters PO receipt, job issues and receipts and other miscellaneous inventory issues and receipt transactions into ERP system in both an accurate and timely manner to reflect inventory on hand and inventory movement on a real time basis. Forwards incoming material pack slips to Purchasing Manager for eventual Accounts Payable matching to supplier invoices.
- Prepares reports or feedback as required related to needed inventory adjustments, damage to stock, refusal of shipments, incoming PO receipt discrepancies and use of stock handling equipment.
- Reviews Kanban/supplies weekly to make sure the department is meeting the Kanban and supply requirements
- Performs cycle counts and year-end annual physical inventory counts.
- Initiates PO requisitions as required to replenish supplies.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent along with job specific training
- Fork-lift Certification (desired)
- Basic understanding of ISO requirements, quality audits and corrective action
- Good understanding of inventory, receiving, purchasing, quality and manufacturing functions
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts
- Ability to use scales and fork-lift
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work within a fast paced manufacturing environment
