Job Profile Summary
This role focuses on activities related to the support services functions, such as dietary and food services, environmental services, general facilities, repair and maintenance, parking, sterilization and transportation to ensure all required support activities are completed in a timely manner and meet the organization's quality standards and expectations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following General Facilities, Repair & Maintenance duties: Operates, monitors and maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces facilities mechanical components and systems such as electrical equipment, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and plumbing. A technical role that accomplishes work through a specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, apprenticeship (craft, skilled and semi-skilled), and experience. An experienced level role that requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requires vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision, problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.
Job Overview
Perform various duties to prepare and paint walls, ceilings, woodwork, baseboards, windows, furniture and other items, as assigned. Keeps adjacent areas and surfaces protected and the work are in a neat and clean condition. Receives and delivers paint and supplies to job sites from shop. May perform a variety of general maintenance duties as assigned.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One (1) year of painting experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Three (3) years of painting experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Prepares surfaces to be painted by washing scraping, patching and sanding as necessary.
2. Tapes and finishes joints of dry wall and applies joint compound.
3. Moves furniture such as desks, file cabinets, tables, beds and other items as required to perform work.
4. Applies prime and finish coats of paint and stain to surfaces.
5. Delivers paint and materials from shop to work site and returns same at the end of the day.
6. Protects adjacent areas and equipment with drop cloths or masking tape and paper.
7. Paint, stain, shellac or varnish woodwork, walls, ceilings, furniture and other items of wood or metal according to specific requirements.
8. Make applications by brush, roller or spray gun.
9. Work from ladders or scaffolds as necessary.
10. Maintain necessary records. Move materials and supplies as necessary in performance of duties. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervisor.
11. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules regulations.
Physical Requirements:
1. Able to visually differentiate colors.
2. Requires occasional to moderate concentration.
3. Moderate to strenuous physical effort required, such as ability to bend, crouch, climb ladders, stretch, carry ladders and staging and constant use of hands, arms, and legs with considerable time standing.
4. Frequent contact with paint materials and odors (unpleasant conditions).
5. Frequent contact of hands with paint materials, paint removers and other related chemicals.
6. Occasional contact with sick patients and laboratory test animals (hazardous conditions).
7. Frequent contact with employees in work areas.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
2. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
