What are the responsibilities and job description for the NDE Technician - Level II - Baton Rouge, LA position at Turner Industries?
Turner Industries Group is looking for experienced NDE Technicians - Level II for outage work in the Baton Rouge, LA area. Required duties are associated with NDE of materials in accordance to referencing code. Must be able to be certified in NDE - Level II certifications in MT, PT, and UTT at a minimum.
- Must be certified in MT, PT, and UTT
- Per diem is not available for this position, local candidates preferred
- Must have valid drivers license
- Must have TWIC card
- Must be able to pass a DISA Background Check and Drug Screen
- Documentation needed: NDE classroom training records, OJT hours, past certifications, state card, and resume
Start Date: September 11th
Duration: 10 days
Qualification Standards:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Functional Requirements:
- Set up and utilize nondestructive testing equipment
- Calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators
- Organize and report test results
Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: Climbing, vessel entry, respirator use
Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards, planning work and selecting proper equipment/tools needed to complete work, following oral and/or written directions, reading and writing with or without accommodation, ability to recognize and report safety hazards, ability to recognize and report violations of company policy, including but not limited to the company EEO and Workplace Harassment & Discrimination policies.
